THE TEAM

Based in the very heart of Brittany, near Pontivy, Open Eyes is an active tourism oriented travel agency.

We aim at making you discover each aspect of our Breton culture (a genuine people, an outstanding landscape, a rich past, a well-preserved heritage, a savoury gastronomy) and at the same time at letting you have a deep insight on who we – Bretons - really are. We hope we will make of your stay a unique experience paved with discoveries, sharing, mutual understanding and enrichment.

We also aim at getting you involved as much as possible during your trip. We want you to meet, see, smell, touch, taste, feel ... We want you to experience our culture from the inside through original and creative activities rather than experiencing it from the outside ; we want you to be actor rather than spectator : We want to communicate our adventure spirit to you by offering you the opportunity to live your trip to the fullest and extend your different senses !

Alexandre, the creator of Open Eyes :

He creates your holidays in Brittany where he lives for a long time now... As a former biking tour leader for an US active holiday tour operator, he knows how much you expect from your holiday. He spends winters going out in the fields to research location and directions and to test what your tour will look like.

Much more than a travel agency

Open Eyes trips are much more than transportation. All the meals, the accomodation for the night, the activities, the access to local transport services of the towns and areas we make you visit are included in the total price. So no bad surprises and on top of that , you can always rely on the helpful presence of a professional guide during your stay.
We will also lead you to those unused footpaths, to all those unknown and unspoiled places that buses or trains can’t reach, to those different places that can’t be seen from the road. It’s up to you to OPEN EYES , enjoy and take advantage of our knowledge and experience.

Trips designed to follow your pace

Many other agencies are unfortunately ready to offer you so-called « discovery » trips at the better prices with a different hotel night after night. We don’t think it is satisfactory for our customers because we think that in such conditions, our customers can’t possibly enjoy and get the most of what the visited places have to offer. This certainly does not correspond to our philosophy. Our experience has taught us the importance of a suitable balance between traveling and observing. You will always spend two or three nights at the same hotel so that you will have the time to observe , make your own discoveries , establish some contacts with the locals. We hope that at the end of your stay , you won’t say « we’ve been there !» but « we’ve lived there ! for some days at least !».
