1 : SAINT MALO.
Saint Malo : 20 Km (13 miles)

After your leader
fit you to your bike and conduct a brief demonstration of bicycling
techniques and safety, you will be ready to set out on your first
ride to disover the picturesque country roads around Saint Malo,
the city of pirates. You may choose to explore the fortified city
or relax and swim at the beach. Dinner in a restaurant and overnight
at the hotel (heart of the fortified city).(D) |
Day 2 : CANCALE ET LA ROUTE CÔTIERE.
Cancale and the Saint Malo coastal road
: 36 Km (22 miles)
Today's route takes you to Cancale, the regional gastronomic
capital, where oysters is more than a tradition. Learn all
about oysters as you visit a family business (optional). Lunch in a breton
crêperie, a must ! Afternoon ride back to Saint Malo .
This wonderful route is strewed with numerous amazing natural spots :
pointe du Grouin and Anse du Guesclin. Diner in a restaurant, overnight
at the hotel. (B, L, D)
Day
3 : DINARD ET LA CÔTE D'EMERAUDE
Dinard~Matignon : 31 Km (20 miles)
Just once won't hurt, you begin your day with a boat ride ! The trip across
the bay from Saint Malo to Dinard offers majestic views over the ramparts
and the emerald coast. Pic nic lunch. Departing Dinard, you bike along
the picturesque coastline past enchanting fishing village and hidden coves.
Diner and overnight at the hotel. (B, L, D)

4: LE CAP FREHEL ET FORT LA LATTE.
Saint Cast Le Guildo : 14 Km (9 miles)
Fort La Latte et Cap Frehel : 33 Km (21 miles)
The « bravest » will leave
earlier for the long option. The « costarmorican » easy country
roads, will take you to the seaside and the outstanding sceneries surrounding
Fort La Latte and the Cap Frehel. Or you may choose to ride a short distance
to the elegant resort of Saint Cast le Guildo to enjoy the beach. Lunch
on your own to discover where the local eat. Diner and overnight at the
hotel. (B, D)
Day 5: DINAN.
Le Val d'Arguenon :
30 Km (13 miles)
Departing Matignon this morning, you begin
your ride to Dinan across beautiful quiet country roads. Some parts of
the journey can be relatively challenging at times but the overall route
represents no major difficulties. Pic nic lunch. Arrival in Dinan and
visit of this old and beautiful town overlooking the river Rance. Dinan
is still encircled by an unbroken line of the oldest and most extensive
ramparts in Brittany. Much appreciated for the protection they afforded
during the period of the Duchy and the Catholic Holy League, the ramparts,
together with other examples of monumental architecture and the many half-timbered
houses, constitute a major asset for the medieval town. Diner on your
own and overnight at the hotel. (B, L)
Day 6 : DINAN~SAINT
MALO.
La
vallée de la Rance : 35 Km (22 miles)
After
fueling up with a delicious breakfast at the hotel, you hop on your bike
and follow the winding of the Rance river to Saint Malo. Pic nic lunch
on the river banks. Pedale across flat country roads past enchanting villages,
mysterious megaliths and gallo roman ruins to eventually come to the final
stage of your day, the heart of Saint Malo fortified city. Diner in a
restaurant, overnight at the hotel.(B, L, D)
Day 7: SAINT
MALO.
Breakfast.
For your final morning you may choose to sleep in and relax on the beach,
roam within the walls of the fortified city or enjoy a short ride through
the surrouding country side. (B)

NIGHT TO VISIT THE MONT SAINT MICHEL
An early morning transfer by van to spectacular island monastery of Mont-St-Michel
allows plenty of time to visit this iconic European pilgrimage site.
